The short version: the name you type, a random code for your seat, and counts with no names in them.
What we keep
- The name you type. It only exists inside that room, and it goes when the room closes.
- A random code for your seat. It means nothing on its own, it is stored only in scrambled form, and it stops working when the room closes.
- Counts with no names in them. How many rooms were made, how many games finished, how many people played, how long a game took, and which settings were used. Nothing that points to a person or a phone.
- How many people read the information pages. Pages like this one, and the home page, are counted so we know whether anybody is finding the game. The counting is done without cookies and without storing anything on your phone. Game screens are never counted at all.
What we do not keep
No account, no email address, no password, and no advertising or tracking cookies. We do not ask for a photo and we do not read your contacts. There is no chat, so there is nothing typed to store. Nothing records your screen and nothing follows you to other websites.
What stays on your phone
Three things: the code for the room you are in, the last name you used, and your vibration and movement settings. Your role, your team, your detective results, your votes and your night choices are never written to your phone. If you reload the page they are fetched again, and only for you.
How long anything lasts
A room is deleted twelve hours after it was made, or after an hour with nobody in it, whichever comes first. When it goes, everything in it goes too, including the names.
When something breaks
If the app goes wrong we record the technical details so it can be fixed. Names and seat codes are stripped out before anything is stored.
About this page
This is written in plain English rather than legal language. It is an honest description of what the game does, not legal advice, and it has not been checked by a lawyer.
